Regency Series — Safe-Way steel garage door installed by Farnsworth Garage Door Service in Chandler, Arizona

About the Regency Series

If we could only install one Safe-Way door across the East Valley, the Regency Series would be it. It's a true triple-layer sandwich: two deep-drawn, tension-leveled, galvanized 27-gauge steel skins, polyester painted and wrapped around a one-pound density expanded polystyrene board with polyurethane adhesive. The result is R-10.25 insulation, genuine dent resistance, sound deadening, and a door that feels like one solid slab when it moves. Heavy 20-gauge painted end stiles and full-section-height inside hinge plates carry the hardware loads that kill lesser doors.

Seven panel designs cover models 64-69: short raised (65), medium raised (69), long ranch (67), flush wood-grain (66), stamped short carriage (68), long carriage (64), and pencil groove. Nine factory-baked colors run from White through Black and Hunter Green — and the Regency Madera models (70-75) add Driftwood, Oak, and Rosewood wood tones with a 10-year section-fading coverage on top of the line's Limited Lifetime rust-through warranty.

With 46 window design options across the Estate and Gentry Series and the full hardware catalog, a Regency can be specified traditional, carriage, or nearly modern. Want the maximum-insulation version of this exact idea? That's the polyurethane-core Ambient Series at R-17.68 — we'll price both on the same quote. Regency is also one of Safe-Way's engineered wind-load platforms — the 120/130/140 mph option is covered further down this page.

Decorative Hardware

Safe-Way's decorative hardware kits — hinge straps, pull handles, knockers, and clavos — are hand-forged black powder-coated steel with a hammered look. On a carriage-house door especially, they're what turn a good-looking door into a signature front-of-house detail. If a kit isn't shown here, ask us — Safe-Way makes more styles than we can fit on one page, and we'll help you match a kit to your door at the consultation.

Safe-Way Regency Series Wind Load Options — 120, 130 & 140 MPH Rated Builds

Wind load isn’t a different door — it’s an engineered version of the Safe-Way Regency Series you’re already looking at. If you’re building or replacing on an open lot in Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Maricopa, or the newer edges of Mesa and Gilbert, this is the option worth asking about.

Your garage door is the largest moving component on your house, and it’s the one a building inspector cares about most in a wind event. Building codes set a design wind speed for your address, and the door has to be rated to hold that pressure. Arizona’s monsoon straight-line winds are the reason it matters here — a door that blows inward doesn’t just cost you a door. It pressurizes the house from the inside, and that’s how roofs and walls fail. Open desert lots with no windbreak take the worst of it.

Safe-Way’s answer is a reinforced build of the same series, tested rather than estimated. The panels, colors, and window options you’ve been looking at carry over — the door gains structure. Below is exactly which Safe-Way Regency Series models Safe-Way publishes wind-rated, what the build adds, and one warranty difference you should know about before you decide.

120MPH Design wind speed Design load at a 16’×7’ opening: +18.5 / -20.4 PSF Model suffix F
130MPH Design wind speed Design load at a 16’×7’ opening: +21.5 / -23.9 PSF Model suffix G
140MPH Design wind speed Design load at a 16’×7’ opening: +24.9 / -27.8 PSF Model suffix H

Wind-load models carry a rating suffix — F = 120 mph, G = 130 mph, H = 140 mph. A Model 65H, for example, is the short raised panel Regency door built to the 140 mph rating.

Safe-Way's wind-load reinforcement package: (A) the reinforced T-strut that stiffens each section, and (B) commercial-duty steel rollers and hardware rated for heavier wind pressures.

What the wind-load build adds

  • Reinforced T-strut across the back of the sections — the primary bracing that keeps a wide door from bowing under pressure.
  • Commercial-duty steel rollers and hardware, specified to withstand heavier wind pressures than the standard build.
  • Additional interior steel reinforcements with increased hardware and springing materials, engineered per rating.

Which Safe-Way Regency Series models come wind-rated

  • Model 64 F/G/H Long Stamped Carriage
  • Model 65 F/G/H Short Raised Panel
  • Model 66 F/G/H Flush
  • Model 67 F/G/H Long Raised Panel
  • Model 68 F/G/H Short Stamped Carriage
  • Model 69 F/G/H Medium Raised Panel
  • Model 270 F/G/H Pencil Groove

All seven painted Regency panel designs are published as wind-load builds, and because Regency is a triple-layer insulated door, you keep the R-10.25 core. Safe-Way also wind-rates the Regency-based Madera wood-look models — those live on our Bi-Directional Wood Grain and Plank Wood Grain pages.

Warranty on wind-load builds: 15 Year

Safe-Way publishes a 15-Year warranty on Regency Series wind-load models. That's different from the standard Regency Series, which carries Limited Lifetime section coverage against rust-through — worth knowing before you decide, and something we'll walk through with you in person.

We’d rather you hear this from us up front than find it in the paperwork later. Safe-Way’s full warranty document is in the brochure section further down this page.

Safe-Way wind-load doors are tested to ANSI/DASMA 108 in an approved wind chamber. Design pressures are based on the required mph wind speeds, and test pressures are run at 1.5 times the design pressure. Testing is based on exposure category C with 30 feet or less of mean roof height. Values are Safe-Way's published calculated values — your local building code sets what your address actually requires.

Not sure what your address requires? That’s a normal question — design wind speed varies lot to lot. Tell us where you are and we’ll confirm the spec, walk you through whether a wind-load Safe-Way Regency Series build makes sense for your opening, and put it in a written quote. It’s also worth a call to your homeowners insurance carrier; some Arizona carriers discount for a wind-rated door.

Warranty

Every Safe-Way Regency Series ships with the Safe-Way Consolidated Residential Warranty. Here’s what’s covered — and for how long — on the standard-build Regency Series configuration.

Non-Transferable — Original Purchaser Only
Limited Lifetime
Models 64–69 and Regency Madera 70–75 and 271, per the published Warranty Information document.
  • Sections warranted against rust-through due to the paint finish cracking, checking, or peeling — as long as the original purchaser owns the single-family home (10 years in other residential installations)
10 Years
Wood-look (Madera) finishes only. Regency's standard painted colors are covered by the lifetime rust-through terms above rather than a separate finish warranty.
  • Finish coverage on Regency wood-look (Madera) finishes — Safe-Way prints a 10-Year Finish Warranty seal on the Bi-Directional and Plank pages of the Regency brochure and states it applies to both graining styles
  • Madera section coverage against fading — if a section is damaged in the first 10 years and the full-price replacement section doesn't color-match the rest of the door, Safe-Way replaces the remaining sections on that door (limited to one door per household)
5 Years
  • Delamination coverage (steel skins separating from insulation) on models 65–69 and Regency Madera
3 Years
  • Hinges, rollers, track, springs & similar hardware (all Safe-Way door models)

Coverage shown is for the standard build. Sub-tier and premium options may modify specific line items — ask Farnsworth for the exact terms on your configuration before purchase.

Verified against Safe-Way's published Warranty Information document: Regency sections carry a Limited Lifetime rust-through warranty (original single-family purchaser; 10 years in other residential installations); models 65-69 add 5-year delamination coverage; Regency Madera models add a 10-year section coverage against fading with a color-match replacement provision limited to one door per household. Safe-Way's Regency brochure also prints a 10-Year Finish Warranty seal on the Bi-Directional and Plank wood-look pages, footnoted as applying to both — the standard painted colors are covered by the lifetime rust-through terms rather than a separate finish warranty. Hardware is 3 years.

Warranty terms change over time. Riley’s team can print the current version of your specific warranty for your files at install.

Installing Your Safe-Way Regency Series in Chandler & the Phoenix Metro

Why Farnsworth is Your Local Safe-Way Installer

Farnsworth Garage Door Service is an active local Safe-Way dealer serving Mesa and the greater Phoenix area, and every install is handled by our in-house install team — not sub-contracted out. We carry Arizona ROC license #351810 and full commercial insurance, and our office answers the phone locally — no call-center runaround, no offshore booking system.

Because we install Safe-Way doors as our day job, our team knows the quirks of every collection — the wind-load spec new Queen Creek and Maricopa builds require, the right insulation tier for a west-facing Scottsdale garage (that’s where the Ambient Series’ R-17.68 polyurethane core earns its keep), and which Estate or Gentry window layout clears a low-headroom opening. When you buy a Safe-Way door from Farnsworth, you get a local installer who has installed the same collection dozens of times.

How the Install Works

  1. Free in-home consultation

A Farnsworth installer walks the opening with you, measures, talks through the colors and options, and hands you a written quote — no obligation, no pressure.

  2. Precise measurement

We measure the width, height, headroom, and side-room of your existing opening to spec the exact door build for your home — no surprises on install day.

  3. Removal & haul-away of your old door

On install day our team removes your old door, cleans up the driveway, and hauls the old sections away. It's always included in the written quote — never a separate line item.

  4. New Safe-Way door installation

Farnsworth's in-house install team sets your new Safe-Way Regency Series — track, torsion, panels, opener drawback, and safety-sensor alignment. No sub-contractors.

  5. Final tuning & walkthrough

Balance check, tension set, and a walkthrough of how your new door and opener work — remote, keypad, safety reverse, and manual release.

After the Install

Farnsworth doesn't disappear after install day. If something needs adjusting — a track alignment, a rattle, an opener travel-limit tweak — give us a call and we come back out. We offer courtesy tune-ups to keep the door running quietly, and we handle warranty service for both the Safe-Way door itself and the install workmanship. If a part needs replacing under warranty, we coordinate the claim with Safe-Way for you.

That's the "buy with confidence" side of buying from a local dealer instead of a national chain: one number to call for service, one team that knows your install, one relationship. Most of our Safe-Way installs turn into repeat customers — opener replacements, second-door installs, and the referrals that follow.

Farnsworth installs Safe-Way Safe-Way Regency Series across the Phoenix metro: Mesa (home base), Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Tempe, Phoenix, Fountain Hills, Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, San Tan Valley, Maricopa, and Guadalupe.

Common Safe-Way Regency Series Configurations

Most of the Safe-Way Regency Series installs we do across Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, Tempe, and the wider Phoenix area fall into one of these two openings. Yours might be different — we measure at the free in-home consultation and quote the exact size for your home.

Most common

Two-car Regency Series install

Approx. 16' wide × 7' or 8' tall

The single 16-foot two-car door is the most common configuration on Phoenix-area homes. On a two-car Regency Series, we recommend a triple-layer Regency build — the R-10.25 polystyrene core makes a real difference on a garage that shares a wall with living space for any attached garage — the extra insulation makes a real difference on the wall the garage shares with your bedroom or living room. One of seven Regency panel designs — short, medium, or long raised, carriage house, pencil groove, or flush scales cleanly across the wider opening, and you can dial in the exact color and one of 46 Estate or Gentry Series window design options that matches your home. Two-car openings are also the sweet spot for Safe-Way's wind-load reinforcement upgrade — the added bracing costs less on a single wide door than doubling it up across two smaller openings.

Townhomes & side entries

One-car Regency Series install

Approx. 8' or 9' wide × 7' tall

Common on townhomes, casita conversions, and homes with a two-single-door layout instead of one wide door. For a one-car Regency Series, a triple-layer Regency model (64-69) in one of nine factory colors is the practical default — enough performance for an attached garage without paying for the top-tier build on a smaller door. Same one of seven Regency panel designs — short, medium, or long raised, carriage house, pencil groove, or flush, same color palette, same warranty as the two-car version — just a narrower opening.

Replace, Upgrade, or New Construction

We install the Safe-Way Regency Series across three scenarios most homeowners in the Phoenix area come to us for — whether you're replacing a door that's finally given up, upgrading from a builder-grade panel, or specifying doors on new construction.

Replace

Replace an aging door with the Safe-Way Regency Series

Your existing door is 15-30 years old, the panels are dented or faded, the springs are cycling through their last thousand openings, and the annual repair calls are stacking up. We remove the old door, hardware, and tracks, install the new Safe-Way Regency Series with all-new hardware, re-set the torsion springs to the correct IPPT for the door weight, program your existing opener (or install a new one), and haul the old door away the same day. Free written quote on the front end, local Safe-Way dealer relationship on the back end.

Upgrade

Upgrade to the Safe-Way Regency Series

You're moving from a single-layer pan door that turns the garage into an oven by 10 a.m. in July — the Regency Series is the workhorse insulated Safe-Way door — 27-gauge skins front and back, heavy 20-gauge painted end stiles and full-height inside hinge plates, a polystyrene core at R-10.25, and a Limited Lifetime rust-through warranty. Add the Madera wood-tone finish (Driftwood, Oak, Rosewood) for a stained-wood look with zero wood maintenance. Your upgrade path also includes the standard triple-layer polystyrene core (R-10.25) — every Regency is a full sandwich door — the tier we specify most often on attached Phoenix-area garages because the thermal payback shows up on every July and August electric bill.

New Construction

New construction Safe-Way Regency Series

Building a new custom home or handling a major renovation? Safe-Way Regency Series factory lead time is factory-order lead times vary by configuration — we confirm a real delivery date with your written quote, so we build the order timing into your construction schedule. Rough-opening walkthrough before drywall, coordinated install once the door opening is dried in, and we work directly with builders and owners across Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, Tempe, and the wider Phoenix area.

How Much Does an Safe-Way Regency Series Cost, and What Determines the Price?

Every Safe-Way Regency Series we install in the Phoenix area is custom-configured to your specific home, so there isn't a single sticker price we can post that will actually match the door you end up with. What we can tell you is exactly what moves the number — six factors, in plain English, so you can walk into the conversation with your eyes open instead of guessing at online ranges from companies that have never seen your opening.

Rather than a generic range that won't match your home, we send a local Safe-Way dealer out to your driveway, measure your opening, walk you through the panel, insulation, color, window, and hardware choices, and hand you a written itemized quote. Free, no obligation, no pressure. Here are the six inputs we work through together.

The installed price on any Safe-Way Regency Series in Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, Tempe, and the wider Phoenix area depends on the six factors below. We walk each one with you in person and put the result in writing.

Size

Door size

Single-car, double-car, and oversized openings each carry their own material and hardware footprint — the single biggest driver of installed price.

Insulation

Insulation tier

Single-, double-, or triple-layer construction. Higher tiers cost more up front and pay back all summer in cooler garages across Mesa, Phoenix, and Chandler.

Windows

Window options

The number of windows, glass style, and upgrades like Frost, Dark Tint, obscure texture, or insulated glazing all shift the number on your quote.

Hardware

Decorative hardware

Optional handles, straps, and hinges dial up curb appeal — they're a la carte, so you only pay for the pieces you actually want on the door.

Wind Load

Wind-load reinforcement

Safe-Way's engineered wind-load builds (rated for 120, 130, and 140 mph design wind speeds) for Arizona monsoon straight-line winds, HOA standards, or homeowners insurance requirements add material to the build.

Included

Removal & haul-away

Farnsworth's written quote always includes removing your old door, cleaning up your driveway, and hauling the old sections away — not a separate line item.

HOA & architectural approval ready. Safe-Way's carriage-house designs are widely accepted in Arizona HOA communities — Silverleaf, DC Ranch, McDowell Mountain Ranch, Verde River, Val Vista Lakes, Power Ranch, Morrison Ranch, and more. Farnsworth handles your architectural review paperwork if your HOA requires it.

Downloads & Spec Sheets

Safe-Way's own brochures, warranty documents, and wind-load spec sheets — the same PDFs your builder or HOA will ask for. All hosted on our site so the links won't rot. Save whatever you need for your project file.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Safe-Way Regency Series garage door cost installed?

Panel design (models 64-69 or a Madera 70-75), door size, windows from the 46-option catalog, hardware, and color all move the number. Rather than post a range that won't match your opening, we measure in person and hand you a free written itemized quote — removal and haul-away included.

What R-value does the Regency Series have?

R-10.25 — from a full triple-layer sandwich of 27-gauge steel skins around a one-pound density expanded polystyrene core. On an attached Chandler or Gilbert garage that shares a wall with living space, that's a noticeable difference every July afternoon.

Is the Regency Series dent resistant?

Meaningfully more than a single-layer door. The bonded steel-polystyrene-steel sandwich behaves like one solid slab, and the heavy 20-gauge end stiles with full-section-height inside hinge plates keep hardware loads from working the skin. It's the construction difference you can hear when you knock on the door.

What is the Regency Madera finish?

Madera is Safe-Way's maintenance-free stained-wood-look finish — Driftwood, Oak, and Rosewood tones on the same triple-layer construction (models 70-75). It also carries a 10-year section coverage against fading, with a color-match replacement provision that's verified in Safe-Way's published warranty document.

How many window options does the Regency Series offer?

46 designs across two families: the Estate Series (Plain, Prairie, Cascade, Waterton, Stockton, Stockbridge, and arched layouts in short, medium, and long panel sizes) and the Gentry Series (brass or pewter pencil designs — diamonds and squares). Insulated glass is available.

What warranty comes with a Regency door?

A Limited Lifetime section warranty against rust-through for the original single-family purchaser (10 years in other residential installations), 5-year delamination coverage on models 65-69, and 3-year hardware coverage. If you choose a Madera wood-look finish, Safe-Way adds a 10-Year Finish Warranty plus a 10-year section coverage against fading with a color-match replacement provision (one door per household). We hand you the current warranty PDF with your quote.

Regency vs. Ambient — which should I buy?

Same construction philosophy, different core. Regency uses polystyrene at R-10.25; Ambient uses injected polyurethane with a thermal break section seal at R-17.68. If the garage is detached or budget rules, Regency is the smart buy; if it's attached and west-facing, the Ambient upgrade pays you back every summer. We quote both together.

Can I get a wind-rated Regency door for monsoon season?

Yes — Safe-Way publishes engineered Regency Wind Load builds rated for 120, 130, and 140 mph design wind speeds. We spec them on open-lot Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, and Maricopa homes, and it's worth asking your insurance carrier about a wind-rated-door discount.

Why Choose Farnsworth for Your Safe-Way Install

Local Mesa-based family business

Brigham and Riley Farnsworth run the company — brothers, both hands-on in the field and the office. The Farnsworth family name has been part of the East Valley business community for 60+ years, so you're hiring people whose reputation actually lives in these neighborhoods.

Local Safe-Way dealer

Farnsworth is an active local Safe-Way dealer serving Mesa and the greater Phoenix area. Every Safe-Way door we install is ordered factory-direct through our dealer account — no third-party distributor, no rotating retailer, no sub-contracted install crew.

Multi-brand dealer

We're dealers for Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Invicta, and Safe-Way — five of the top residential garage door manufacturers in North America. That means we recommend the door that actually fits your home, not the one brand we're forced to push. If a different manufacturer is the better call for your project, we'll tell you.

Free written quote, no pressure

Every Safe-Way consultation is free. We measure your opening, walk the color and hardware options with you, and hand you a written itemized quote before you commit to anything.

Own the whole workflow, end to end

Measurement, factory order, install-day coordination, and after-install warranty support all live under our roof. The team that measures your opening is the team installing your door and the team you call if anything ever needs adjusting. No subcontractors, no rotating crews, no handoffs.

We service what we install

A garage door is a 20-year relationship, not a one-and-done sale. Farnsworth stays your service company for the life of the door — tune-ups, spring replacements, opener repairs, warranty claims. One number to call, one team that knows your install.

Licensed, insured, background-checked

Arizona ROC-licensed (License #351810), fully insured, and every crew member is background-checked before they set foot on your driveway. Not the license number of a national franchise — our own name on the license, our own team on the truck.

Same-day service across the Phoenix area

Same schedule across all 13 cities we serve — Mesa (our home base), Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix, Fountain Hills, Gold Canyon, Apache Junction, Maricopa, and Guadalupe. Same-day scheduling is our standard for repair and consultation calls.

Financing available

Buy the garage door you actually want — not the one that fits this month’s cash on hand.

Farnsworth offers flexible financing on every install and repair job over $500, across all four brands we carry — so you can pick the exact door, insulation tier, hardware, and windows you’d choose if budget wasn’t in the way.

Most homeowners qualify with a soft credit check that doesn’t affect your credit score. Fill out our short financing application — takes about two minutes to submit — and you’ll know your approval and monthly payment options before you finalize your quote. No pressure, no obligation.

Great experience today with Brigham and Farnsworth. Garage Doors! Wife backed into and dented the bottom panel backing out of the garage before the door was fully open. Getting quotes and find since the door is 20 years old I can’t just replace the bottom panel. Brigham put a shoulder to the bend and straighted it, not perfect but better than it was, and added a couple of screw to keep things and place, for no charge! At some point will likely have to replace the door but this works for now!
